Ditch the Desk

Ditch the Desk: Team Building With A Purpose!

Looking for an impactful way to energize your team and make a difference? A Little Help’s Ditch the Desk program invites groups from businesses, clubs, schools, or faith-based organizations to step outside their usual routines and help older adults in their community.

How It Works

With just one month’s notice, your group can:

  • Pick a date and choose the type of project that excites your team.
  • Spend a half or full day helping with meaningful tasks like:
    • Yardwork or outdoor cleanup for an older adult
    • Tackling large indoor/outdoor projects, such as a garage cleanout
    • Creating and delivering Kindness Kits packed with thoughtful goodies (crosswords, socks, coloring books, etc.)

We’ll handle the planning—you bring the energy and enthusiasm!

Why Ditch the Desk?

This program is a win-win:

  • For Older Adults: They feel valued, cared for, and connected to their community.
  • For Your Team: You’ll leave inspired, energized, and closer as a group. Studies even show that 89% of employees believe volunteering creates a better workplace culture (Deloitte Volunteerism Survey, 2017).

What We Ask of You

To make your Ditch the Desk day even more impactful:

  • Share Your Experience: Post about your day on social media and tag A Little Help to inspire others.
  • Let’s Collaborate: Connect us with your HR representative to explore workplace giving or volunteering opportunities.
  • Invite Us: We’d love to speak to your group ahead of time to share how they’ll make a difference.
