The Monarch Mavericks dance every 2nd and 4th Saturday afternoons of the month at the Salida Community Center, 305 F Street, in Salida, Colorado. All dances are from 1:30-4:00 in the afternoon. Professional callers from Colorado and surrounding states always deliver a fun, high-spirited dance experience. The Mavericks are all-inclusive, singles and couples of all genders are welcome, and novice dancers are encouraged. While the Mavericks do not adhere to a dress code, our club leans toward traditional dress. On the other hand, summer brings many guests in their mountain vacation clothes, and our members enjoy the casual atmosphere as well. Just come dance! Classes for new Mainstream dancers and refreshers are announced once a year, usually late January. Twenty sessions are held twice a week for ten weeks, at a cost of $5 per person per class. Our club caller Michael Turley teaches the classes at the Ricketts Ranch near Nathrop. Occasional Plus classes are offered as well.
