Did You Know We ALL Lose Muscle As We Age?

Age-related muscle loss, called sarcopenia, is a natural part of aging. After age 30, you begin to lose as much as 3% to 5% per decade.  Just like bone density decreases with age, we also lose muscle mass. It is a natural process that occurs in everyone over time. It can lead to frailty, increased fall risk, and loss of independence.

No matter how old you are, you can combat sarcopenia, by building muscle strength.

Take 45 minutes out of your day to learn a little bit more about the science behind strength training and muscle loss, all while being inspired to take control of your health- mind and body. It is worth your time - NO MATTER YOUR AGE!

Eric started Vivo after leaving the technology and software world, looking to positively impact people’s lives and make a difference in the world. As he witnessed the decline in the quality of life of his parents as they were getting older, he realized he wanted to better understand the aging process and help them. He discovered that as we age, we naturally lose muscle mass which is a primary contributor to a reduced quality of life and loss of independence, as well as leading to numerous age-related maladies such as falls, type 2 diabetes, osteoporosis, and more. However, consistently engaging in a strength training program reverses age-related muscle loss and is the number one factor in maintaining a high quality of life and independence as we age. This knowledge is at the heart of why he started Vivo – to create awareness and a safe, engaging, and impactful program to guide older adults to a better life.
